Sentient delves into the intriguing concept of a machine attaining sentience. In the realm of AI development, a longstanding objective has been to fashion a machine that possesses sentience—a profound level of awareness enabling it to perceive emotions and sensations. When a machine is sentient, it exhibits self-awareness, comprehends, and conveys emotions akin to humans. This work adopts the machine’s standpoint, prompting contemplation about the ethical implications of engineering a sentient machine whose core purpose revolves around serving humanity. To bring this exploration to life, the performance incorporates the innovative eMic (Extended Mic Stand Interface Controller) as an alternative means of interaction and control.
